‘Meetings on Art,’ the official public programme of 58th Venice Biennale exhibition of Art takes place during the opening week (8–12 May) and final weekend (23–24 Nov) of the Biennale. The programme is devised by Ralph Rugoff, Artistic Director of the 58th Venice Biennale of Art, and Aaron Cezar, Director of Delfina Foundation. The artists selected for the opening week of the performance programme are defining this and the next generation of performance with diverse and hybrid practices spanning music, movement and visual art.
Among the performances, which are dealing with questions of identity politics and intersectionality, are Victoria Sin’s ‘If I had the words to tell you we wouldn’t be here now’ (2019), commissioned by Chi-Wen Gallery, and ‘View From Elsewhere’ (2018). Both performances are presented in the Giardino and Arsenale with support from Chi-Wen Gallery and Canadians in the UK.
