本屆雙年展由藝術總監羅森泰爾（Stephanie Rosenthal）策展，以「未來已經到達 —— 只是分配不均」（The future is already here – it’s just not evenly distributed）為主題，並規劃一系列開幕活動。藝術家姚瑞中將於開幕日在展場車廠當代藝術中心舉行藝術家座談會。
